This comprehensive package offers start to finish private college guidance for Junior and Senior years. From curating the college list, career and major mentoring, and brag sheets to all aspects of managing the college applications and essays, this package is for the highly motivated teen and is the best value.
 
Total of 40 private 1–hour meetings. Designed to begin Junior year through application deadlines Senior year.

  •  

    Junior Year support:

    • Assist in creating and curating the college list (reach, target & safety schools)

    • Guide Student in self reflection to determine interests, learning style, and goals for the best fit learning environment

    • Help create a well-researched college list with Student

    • Organize school research and priorities in a shared spreadsheet

    • Determine parameters regarding location and budget, as well as pedagogical, religious, ideological, and ethical considerations

    • Help facilitate or schedule college visits

    • Help Student create questions and “look-fors” while on a campus visit

    • Guide Student in campus reflection after campus visits

    • Refine list to a reasonable and varied final list 

    • Initial student and family assessment, profile and evaluation to determine college goals, intentions, preferences, etc.

    • Advising on summer enrichment activities

    • Evaluation and advising on high school academics, standardized test plan, and extra-curriculars

    • Guide Student through the preparation of an extra-curricular activities resume/brag sheet

    • Guide Student in soliciting letters of recommendation

    • Major & career mentoring

     

    Application support:

    • Create and manage overall timeline for various deadlines (including essay prioritization)

    • Guide college visit “look fors” and debrief after visits

    • Guidance on Early Decision and Early Action advantages and applications if applicable

    • Assist in completion of up to 5 applications (many schools use the same application form)

    • Assist with creation of a professional student resume

    • Expert guidance for the “Common App Activity List” and achievements inventory

    • Supervise electronic teacher recommendation requests

    • Regular check-ins

    • Teach how to make your essays stand out to college admissions

    • Create a detailed essay timeline and plan for prioritization according to school list and deadlines

    • Provide various essay examples as inspiration and discuss important takeaways

    • Review applications for current supplemental essay questions (released Aug 1 of senior year)

    • Expert guidance in brainstorming potent topics, varied values, and a compelling story arc 

    • Assist in creating outlines for more than one personal statement option

    • Help select the best structure/draft to revise and edit for final draft

    • Teach lessons on essay openers, transition sentences, insights, craft, vulnerability, endings & other key features
